Description

Do you have training in the field of behavioural science and experience designing and conducting research projects? Are you interested in engaging in strategic initiatives to build capacity and support the use of the behavioural sciences across the Ontario Public Service (OPS)? If so, then consider this unique and exciting Co-op Student opportunity with the Behavioural Insights Unit (BIU) at Cabinet Office!

This is a 4 month co-op placement with Ontario’s Behavioural Insights Unit.  This placement is intended to provide a graduate student with the opportunity to learn from and contribute to the work of an applied behavioural science team.  This opportunity is open to Masters and PhD level students in a behavioural science or related discipline.

The BIU is a team of behavioural scientists and policy professionals who partner with ministries and the broader public sector to design and test cost-effective program solutions using behavioural science insights and methodologies. By testing what works and, just as importantly, what does not, through pilot projects, the BIU is helping to build policies and programs that are made to work for Ontarians.

Established in 2015, Ontario’s BIU was the first government unit dedicated to the practice of behavioural insights in Canada. Today, the BIU is part of the Strategy and Innovation Branch within Cabinet Office.
