What makes us Burson

We’re hiring a quantitative behavioural scientist to join our unique Data & Intelligence Team, where an uncommon blend of specialists collaborates at the heart of the biggest communications agency in the world.  We are looking for candidates who are fascinated by human behaviour, have an interest in communications, and enjoy producing high quality experimental and quantitative research. You will have the chance to deliver projects and campaigns for a range of public or private sector organisations – from boosting the adoption of sustainable products to tackling health inequality.  You will also develop transferable skills in research, client management and communication. There will be opportunities to grow the role into areas of personal interest, while working in fun, dynamic and collaborative team.  If you are excited by the challenge of applying behavioural insights in communications and love the idea of working side by side with data and creative strategists – we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities

  • Design research projects and test hypotheses, analyse and present research results – including consumer surveys, experiments and thought leadership
  • Partner closely with our account leaders and colleagues in creative strategy roles to create and carry out effective campaigns grounded in behavioural science
  • Build collaborative trusting relationships with your colleagues in the UK and around the globe, helping them understand the capabilities that behavioural science can bring to their clients
  • Contribute to creative ideation sessions, and be a proactive participant within new business meetings and pitches
  • Promote Burson and our behavioural science offer to develop new business opportunities and expand current client reach.
  • Help analyse our extensive existing datasets and build theory to better understand what works in communications and reputation.

Requirements

  • A curious mind
  • A master’s degree or equivalent work experience; or working to complete postgraduate studies. This should be in behavioural science or a related discipline
  • At least 3 years’ experience applying behavioural science or consumer insights in a real-world setting, preferably in a client advisory capacity.
  • An interest in using behavioural science and research to solve practical business problems and support campaigns.
  • Skills in analysing and presenting quantitative results from research trials, including randomised controlled trials and other quasi-experimental methodologies.
  • Excellent communications skills, able to articulate complex issues clearly to colleagues, small groups and large audiences in both written and verbal form.
  • Experience with consumer survey vendors and the programming language R is preferred.
