Edward Jones is building the best applied behavioral science team in the world. The behavioral science team is a high-impact capability that supports everything from strategic direction of the firm to tactical design. Where needed, we dedicate behavioral scientists to functional areas within the business to lead behavioral initiatives in that domain. We're hiring a Senior Behavioral Scientist to support Edward Jones' Service Division.

The Service Division within Edward Jones is responsible for providing support and assistance to clients and branch office associates. It is charged with leading the firm in the delivery of service excellence to enable and accelerate the branch team and client success, with a vision of being recognized as the best service support provider in North America.

Responsibilities

The Senior Behavioral Scientist will be an expert in behavioral science and a trusted, senior partner to Service leadership on behavior change initiatives. They will work collaboratively with the rest of Service and, as a matrixed role, feel like an integrated member of the Service team. The behavioral scientist will be entrepreneurial in the work, with skill in scoping large ambiguous goals into meaningful projects where they:

  • Provide actionable, tactical recommendations to advance Service objectives. Assist in the design of solutions and experiences for Service strategies in collaboration with Service design teams.
  • Serve as owner of key behavioral strategies, as identified by Service leadership and the behavioral scientist. Some initiatives that Service is driving will have psychology or behavior change as a foundational component. The behavioral scientist can serve as an owner of those strategies.
  • Review research and literature from academia and industry related to behavioral strategies and distill findings into actionable takeaways for Service leaders and teams.
  • Facilitate user research and testing related to strategies and experience designs.
  • Many initiatives will require thoughtful consideration of home office associate behavior change. The behavioral scientist will inform strategy and provide tactical recommendations on navigating associate behavior change.

Requirements

Skills/Requirements

  • Masters degree
  • 6-10 years of relevant work experience
  • Strong foundational knowledge of behavioral science, psychology, behavioral economics, or other disciplines within social science.
  • Knowledge of research methods required.
  • Excellent consulting skills.
  • Strong understanding of the financial services industry.

The salary range for this role is based on national data and actual pay is based on skills, experience, education, and other relevant factors for a potential new associate:

Hiring Minimum: $113810

Hiring Maximum: $193785
